At Sigicom, we have always been committed to supporting education and the development of young professionals in technical fields. This commitment extends from our Scandinavian roots to institutions and initiatives around the world where we believe we can make a meaningful contribution.

It is therefore a natural step for Sigicom to support the Mining and Explosives Engineering Department at Missouri S&T in the establishment of its new research and education test facility, working together with Catherine Johnson, Professor and Interim Department Chair at Missouri S&T, and Rachel Bauer, PhD in Explosives Engineering. The facilitywill serve as an important site for education, research, and testing, providing students and researchers with valuable hands-on experience in mining and explosives engineering. 

 Missouri S&T is recognized as one of the leading universities in the United States for explosives engineering and is widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost institutions in the field. Its work in research, innovation, and education continues to contribute to the future of the explosives and mining industries. 

With this in mind, Sigicom is proud to contribute monitoring equipment to the university’s new test site. In August 2026, Sigicom representatives Johan Finsteen Gjødvad, Strategic Partnership Manager, and Christian Fogstad, Senior Vice President and GM of Sigicom Inc., visited Rolla, Missouri, to install the first set of monitoring equipment at the facility. 
 
The installation included the INFRA S10 Air Blast Sensor, INFRA V12 Triaxial Geophone, and INFRA D10 Dataloggerproviding the facility with monitoring technology for measuring and collecting airblast and vibration data. 

The installation was completed successfully and demonstrated its value from the very beginning. The equipment will support both educational activities and future research projects, helping students and researchers gain practical experience with monitoring technologies used throughout the industry. 

Both Missouri S&T and Sigicom are pleased with the collaboration and look forward to continuing the partnership in the years ahead. Together, we aim to support education, advance research, and contribute to the development of the next generation of monitoring technologies and engineering professionals.
