The knowledge and skills I gained are directly applicable to our monitoring and reporting work in South Florida. I highly recommend this seminar for all levels of knowledge.
Why you should measure vibration – Interview with Charles Dowding
During a previous Dowding Lecture, we had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Dowding for an interview. As stated by Dr. Charles Dowding in this video, “saying something is not the same thing as measuring it”. Monitoring is required to control vibration activities, ensure project compliance, engage in proper risk management, and help build and maintain good community relations throughout a project.
Vibration monitoring education: Insights from Dr. Charles Dowding
In the second video, Dr. Dowding discusses the importance of increasing seismographic and vibration monitoring knowledge and education in an evolving industry. He lists three principal educational areas:
1. Understanding the instrumentation
2. Understanding structural response
3. Understanding geology
