Sigicom is proud to contribute to a new online education program from Nexgrow Academy focused on instrumentation and monitoring for the construction and mining industries.
The program, launching this summer, will include several modules covering different monitoring technologies and applications. Sigicom France’s Sales Manager, Dimitri Chamard-Boudet, is responsible for the module dedicated to vibration monitoring.
As part of the project, Dimitri is developing training content and recording presentation videos for the course.
As one of the early pioneers in providing solutions dedicated to environmental monitoring, we at Sigicom have developed strong technical expertise and extensive experience in this field. It is only natural for us to share these capabilities, and we already offer education programs to our clients, says Dimitri.
– On a personal level, I strongly believe in the value of sharing knowledge, which is why I’m highly committed to these training initiatives. When Nexgrow approached us, it was therefore quite logical for us to take part in this broader training initiative focused on the fields of monitoring and instrumentation.
Vibration generated by construction activities and mining operations can have significant impacts on surrounding buildings, nearby residents, and sensitive equipment. If not properly managed, these effects can lead to disputes, litigation, and costly operational disruptions. As a result, vibration monitoring has become an essential part of modern construction and mining projects.
However, vibration monitoring requires more than simply installing sensors. Accurate measurements and proper data analysis depend on strong technical expertise and understanding of vibration behavior, standards, and regulations.
– I hope participants will gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of vibration and its physical behavior, so that they can adapt monitoring solutions to the specific needs of each project. We also include a section dedicated to regulations and standards, which are numerous and diverse. I hope this will make it easier for participants to navigate these texts, understand their requirements, and use them effectively, says Dimitri.
Through its participation in the Nexgrow Academy initiative, Sigicom continues to support knowledge-sharing and professional development within the monitoring industry.
