Customer Case

Sound Level Measurement in High Detail

In Sweden’s second largest city of Gothenburg, heavy construction and blasting are taking place as a new underground railway is being built under the central city. Johan Scheuer, a monitoring consultant at Ensucon, measures the noise levels in sensitive buildings that are located next to the drilling and blasting activities. On the project, Johan is using 35 INFRA S50 noise sensors from Sigicom.

Support and calibration

INFRA S50 Digital Sound Level Meter contains both a high quality microphone and a complete array of electronics with digital signal processing. All filtering and signal processing is performed digitally in the S50. This allows you to keep your data logger working in the field while the sensor is sent for annual recalibration. Sigicom has calibration laboratories in Stockholm (Sweden), London (UK), Caen (France), Colorado (USA), and Ottawa (Canada). Read more about our calibration services under Support.

Applications

Environmental monitoring is a crucial part of our society and is performed within many construction and infrastructure projects. Vibration, sound, air over pressure, dust, and many other parameters are monitored in construction and infrastructure projects.  Making sure that nearby buildings are protected, and residents are comfortable, is a best practice in the industry.

Made to work

The INFRA S50 noise monitor offers a rugged design and IP67 protection class for a long service life in harsh conditions. With the INFRA System you can monitor several parameters at the same time, by connecting the INFRA S50 noise monitor to your INFRA datalogger and add sensors that measure vibrations, air pressure, dust, or other values.

Quick and easy set-up

The monitor is easily mounted and installed on your worksite in just a few minutes. After installation, the INFRA System’s extremely easy-to-use interface allows to instantly and effectively start monitoring noise levels. All monitoring is performed digitally and in INFRA Net web application you can easily select standards. In INFRA Net you can adjust settings and view all of the sensors and monitors in your projects.

Work remotely

Manage your project remotely via your computer or mobile device via INFRA Net, our internet-based system for project administration. In INFRA, you will find a rugged and reliable remote monitoring system, helping users reduce travel costs and increase efficiency. Project alerts can be received by key project personnel at designated measurement thresholds. Data can be analyzed, and reports generated as required for any project.

Standards

Investing in Sigicom’s vibration monitoring equipment is a wise and future-proof investment.
