INFRA detects environmentally hazardous waste and alerts promptly

Detecting hazardous waste after plants and animal life have already suffered means extensive costs that are entirely unnecessary. Measuring around environmentally risky activities means that enterprises and authorities can be alerted when small and potentially hazardous changes occur.

Good intentions are not always good enough
 
The media reports regularly about large waste producers and other polluters. However, in most cases the discharge of environmentally dangerous substances is not intentional. Waste is the consequence of inadequate control of production processes, storage and handling. Steel cisterns rust and smaller leakage is difficult to detect, especially in the ground and from pipes in concrete. In order to be sufficiently aware of the waste products, continuous measurement is often required.

Not only the environment suffers damage

Unexpected waste material from an industry can not only create undesired environmental impact, but can also damage a company’s relationship with authorities, customers and the public in general. To lose the customer’s confidence can cost considerably more than de-contamination.

Many different types of “environmental” sensors can be connected to the INFRA system

INFRA can measure water levels, pH and conductivity in water combined with rainfall and water flows. Dust particles, land close ozone and different air gases can also be measured. In connection with this, wind speed and direction may need to be measured when measuring in water.

Different alert levels can be set to provide information to the responsible operation. Relevant information is important when the operator tries to stop ongoing waste and to prevent threshold values from being exceeded. Reporting can be tailored for different  information requirements.

Typical example

An illustration of this might be a construction project on a site where the layers of earth are so porous that a reduction of  groundwater pressure is necessary in order to make excavation possible.  The water level must then be lowered during the excavation in a way which does not result in negative environmental impact. The INFRA system sends alerts before this can happen.
