Noise Measurement

Noise can be measured in different ways and an absolute standard is non-existent. The Environmental Protection Agency has formulated environmental quality standards for authorities that are useful even in private operations.

The EPA has also formulated advice on how measurement should be done and how to protect people. Preventive measures are described and the directive 2004:15, describes a framework for the measurement of noise near construction sites. Recommendations regarding housing, hospitals and schools are also available at http://www.naturvardsverket.se

INFRA can help!

The Sigicom INFRA system lets you measure sound from 20-135 dB in four measurement ranges. As compensation, weather parameters can be simultaneously measured. “Connect and measure” - means that all sensors have the same contacts, regardless of whether you use the geophone, microphone, noise meter, slope or wind gauge.

INFRA makes it both possible and feasible to check all work sites where employees may be exposed to high noise levels. By first measuring noise levels at the workplace it is easier to take action if there is an issue. Health risks can be avoided and the financial risk of possible penalties for breaches of regulations is reduced. The costs of setting up an INFRA system is significantly lower than the costs of injuries and/or damages.

Good work environments are more easily created and at lower cost when the rules and regulations are considered early using a sound measurement system that scans and interprets the results.
