Lower costs, higher profits, improved measurements and radically reduced workload

Follow these steps to lower costs:

Working hours and travel time required to obtain measurement data and reports can be drastically reduced. Installing the equipment on site is so simple that your customers, in many cases, can do it themselves. The equipment is controlled and processed via the Internet from your computer in the office, home or anywhere there is an Internet connection.

All the reading and reporting of measurement data is done automatically via cellular networks and the Internet. There is no need to physically visit the project site to monitor the equipment - except after about a month, and then only to replace the battery. No one has to visit the equipment to collect the data. One person can manage many measurement projects simultaneously. Remote measurement also reduces costly travel expenses dramatically.

There will be much less administration work. The INFRA system software keeps track of measurement standards, reporting times, instrument calibration, battery levels, GSM coverage, etc.

There will be much less work involved when informing clients, contractors, demolition or construction managers and other interested parties. Anyone needing a test result can receive data automatically via the Internet or mobile phone - or quickly retrieve relevant reports themselves from the system.

You can conduct the entire measurement project yourself or with your own personnel. The specialist expertise is built into the software.

Temporary measurements take less time to perform with INFRA because the system uses safer and more effective measurement techniques.

The number of measurement interruptions and problems is reduced. The system is more robust and reliable than most others. Human errors in reading and reporting are eliminated.

The equipment can be used more efficiently and thus provides a faster ROI (Return on Investment). INFRA has a very wide range of applications and can be reprogrammed for new projects and requirements.

You can also rent equipment and thereby avoid the high cost of ownership.

How to get higher income:

You can take on more measuring projects.

With the freed-up working time you and/or your staff can spend more income producing time on other projects instead of collecting and reading data reports.

Your quotes will be more attractive and more competitive. The same or greater income can be achieved with lower costs resulting in lower bid prices.

Measure all sorts of environments using durable and reliable equipment

A field measurement system must be highly durable, extremely reliable and not susceptible to magnetic interference. In some measurement projects, continuous measurement and reporting of results is a prerequisite before noise producing operations can begin. Any measurement-related downtime is not only costly but also reduces confidence in you as a contractor.

Operational reliability of the INFRA system is based on two basic concepts: All registration, recording and reporting of measurement data occurs using digital technologies that are programmed into the system and function automatically. All field equipment is physically designed to withstand even extreme weather and other natural conditions. This has contributed to the success of the INFRA system when operating in different parts of the world.

Measuring equipment for all applications – large, small, simple or complex

With INFRA you can measure and monitor vibration, noise and shock waves from work-sites, mines and quarries, railways, roads and many other sources. You can measure and monitor noise caused by construction work, traffic, loud speakers, music, fans, air conditioning, etc. - and you can measure virtually anywhere, anytime. The collected data can then be sent automatically to almost anywhere in the form of reports or alerts.

The INFRA-system stands for a strong combination of usability and advanced measurement functions. You can even measure vibration that may affect historic objects such as fragile church or museum inventory made of breakable material, or laboratory instruments and precision machinery.

One cable for everything. Measure at the source of interference and get separate reports simultaneously

You can measure various kinds of disturbance in the same INFRA-system on the same test site by linking different types of measuring devices, such as vibration, noise and pressure wave gauges on the same cable to the master unit. The master unit sorts the data and sends it on for further processing. The instruments are flexible and can be reprogrammed for other measurement needs in the same category for other projects.

Get data minutes after a measurement event in easy to understand presentations

INFRA Web provides a clear and immediate display of ongoing projects. Data is displayed in tabular form as well as graphic chart format on the computer screen. The web based display also includes a map of the project site, and descriptive text. You can easily add your customers to the system and e-mail a password to those customers, and/or other designated parties, so that they can login and see the data for themselves.

Information received from multiple sensors can be presented quickly and clearly on the computer screen. The advanced analysis and reporting components of the INFRA Net system allow for presentation of various tables and charts in PDF format. Further processing can be done in Excel, etc. and sent to various concerned parties by mail or be entered into a Word document. Invoices can also be generated.

Get critical data and alerts from the test site via SMS designated recipients

INFRA equipment can be programmed to send alerts via GSM or GPRS to blast managers, construction managers, and others when defined limits are exceeded. This allows blast salvos to be optimized so that unnecessary fines and damage is avoided. If mobile communications are temporarily disrupted, the SMS messages are stored in the measuring equipment and repeatedly sent until reaching the designated receiver(s).

Avoid fines, damage claims and complaints

By monitoring with the INFRA system you can ensure that construction projects are carried out in accordance with local regulations and conditions for vibration, noise and other measurable disturbances. Even projects in close proximity to sensitive buildings and other protected areas can be implemented safely. Likewise, you can continuously monitor operations of mines, quarries, etc. and make sure they are kept within the applicable regulatory standards.

Noise and vibration issues should be dealt with before violations occur. INFRA gives you the right tools. For example, you can predict how existing noise levels will change during a planned expansion of an industrial facility or road expansion. Since you can conduct noise analysis in the planning phase you have ample opportunity to make adequate provision for preventative measures. This averts costly downtime and emergency situations after the project is in progress.

Often, complaints from residents and workplaces affect building projects. A preventive plan and continuous information to concerned parties will help to create understanding and public acceptance. The INFRA data can be updated automatically and displayed directly on a public web site if desired. The time and expense it takes to inform everyone involved will be lower and will result in fewer complaints.

Effective responses to environmental demands from authorities and clients

Before final decisions are made on construction of roads, factories, residential areas, dams, etc. potential environmental impact issues are investigated and analyzed. The INFRA-system makes it easy for consultants to carry out the required geo-technical and acoustic analysis and thus accurately assess a project’s environmental impact. Current information for environmental managers and environmental authorities can then be sent to them directly while working with the INFRA system.

Facilitate planning, implementation and monitoring of measurement projects with our standards

Established standards provide guidelines both for the implementation of measurement procedures and interpretation of the results. The use of standards is a way of making measurement data understandable and usable. Report recipients are often not knowledgeable of measurement technology, or of different kinds of disturbance, but by referencing known standards they have a good opportunity to use and understand the measurement data. It is common for tender documentation to specify certain standards that the bidder must carefully consider.

Test results according to standards are easier to communicate and discuss with other others concerned, such as developers, project managers and site managers. Measured values relative to a standard makes it easier for you to assess the need for preventative measures in order to limit disruption of planned work.

Sigicom measuring devices have different standards programmed into the system and are easily activated. Parameter settings enable you or your operator to specify the applicable standard for each measurement task. The operator does not need to know anything about the standard or the measurement technology. Virtually all technicians can use the INFRA system immediately with minimal training.

Sigicom has so far implemented and delivered the instrument standards: SS 460 48 66, SS 02 52 11, ISO 8569, SS 460 48 61, DIN 4150-2, DIN 4150-3, NS 814, BS 7385, ISEE Seismograph, AS 2187.

If you require additional standards, we will gladly add those when supplying new equipment.

Rent or buy equipment – no investment requirements

Renting measurement equipment can provide significant benefits:

  • Instead of a permanent investment, you get a current expense that may be easier to fund and is not charged to your capital or your balance sheet.
  • Costs are predictable, which simplifies budgeting and accounting and provides a more accurate picture of the actual cost of equipment rather than the depreciation on the purchase.
  • With a long-term lease, Sigicom is responsible for ongoing technical updates and service, so you always have the most potential to gain efficiency.
  • The lease agreement may also include software, calibration, support, and insurance - all on a single invoice.
  • Different forms of payment can be arranged.
  • After the lease expires, you can choose to extend the term of the lease, purchase the equipment or return it.
  • You can rent a short-term measurement system for up to a year and you can have a long-term rental, or lease our measurement system for up to three years through our bank.

Expert advice in choosing the components and system design to meet your measurement needs

We consult with our clients regarding their measurement requirements or issues. Advisory services are particularly valuable in the initial phase of new projects. After an analysis of the underlying requirements, we can usually suggest the right configuration for your situation. Obviously, we are pleased to provide consultation services but it is not a requirement for us to undertake an advisory assignment.

Our advice will usually mean quicker project start times and more reliable results. Preliminary studies and evaluation of measurement methods are common advisory assignments - others might be analysis, special investigations and supervision for inexperienced technicians.

Access to efficient user support and service

We support our users by phone, e-mail and Internet. We consider an active and effective support department as part of our mission to provide the best functionality and viability for the measurement systems we deliver. Our phone support is open weekdays 8-17 (closed for lunch 12-13). We have a separate e-mail address for support issues that guarantees acute support matters do not end up mixed with other e-mail. Every support request  is registered in our case management system. All activities and status of each case entered in the system stay active until the case is resolved.

Service needs for Sigicom’s own products are minimal. If a need for service does occur, for example, if an instrument is damaged, we can be contacted by phone or through our separate service address. We have excellent troubleshooting routines. After repair, upgrade or other major fixes we automatically re-calibrate the instrument before it is sent back to the customer.

Sigicom keeps calibration data for all delivered INFRA-sensors and calibrates them in our own lab in Stockholm, Sweden. We can also calibrate UVS, ConReg and other brands of instruments on request.
